The exhilarating track blends metalcore and trap in relentless fashion, Curry jumping in from the second verse with a bombardment of lyrics, complementing Knocked Loose frontman Bryan Garris’ own vocals.

The Kentucky five-piece first teased the collaboration on Instagram earlier this week with a video where a DJ, who’s setting up at a skatepark, gets out a record that lists both artists and the track name.

The video, directed by Eric Richter and Garris, was filmed in the band’s hometown of Louisville, Kentucky at the David Armstrong Extreme Park. Take a look here.

“This is something we’ve talked about doing for a long time,” said Garris. “We wondered if we could pull it off and who would be down. In the very beginning, we said for it to work, it would have to be Denzel Curry. Because he gets it.”

The release marks the band’s first new single since 2024, when they released the album ‘You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To’, which featured the Grammy-nominated Poppy collaboration ‘Suffocate’.

About working with the singer, Garris told NME the following year: “We realised that it was a curveball for a lot of our listeners. So, our way to balance that was to make this song insane, to the point where you’re laughing at how heavy some of these breakdowns are.”

The singer also looked at their potential future direction, explaining, “There’s been a lot of processing of how amazing some of these moments have been. But there’s never been any conversation about lightening up. We’re a heavy band and we’re always going to be a heavy band.

“If anything, that attention makes us want to double down. We see people reacting positively to all of this chaos that we’re introducing to our sound and we get inspired by that feedback, inspired by past extremes working. That’s how it will stay.”

Following their UK and European tour last year, Knocked Loose are returning to Europe over the summer, supporting Metallica and Bring Me The Horizon as well as playing Slam Dunk Festival and Primavera Sound – find tickets to their UK shows here. In their native US, they’re playing Sick New World in Las Vegas in April and then in Dallas in October.
