It's only been a week or so since the Warhammer 40K Iron Warriors tease at the end of January's preview show, but we're already getting a glimpse of what's next.
Following the trailer seen during 2026's New Year Warhammer Preview, the Chaos Space Marines are being reinforced with Kravek Morne – an Iron Warriors Warsmith who's built like a brick shithouse crossed with a bank vault (as seen in a post via Warhammer Community). Clad in Cataphractii Terminator armor from the Horus Heresy and covered in enough extras to earn him the nickname "Everything But the Kitchen Sink," he looks like an absolute menace and is joined by an Iron Warriors upgrade kit for Warhammer 40K. However, these were just a part of the Iron Warriors teaser… which makes me all the more confident that fellow fans of Chaos are in for a treat courtesy of the next campaign book.
Judging by previous footage, we're missing a handful of models seen in part and only for a few seconds. (It's hard to know for sure, but they looked like a Defiler and Obliterators to me.) Neither Morne nor the upgrade kit match those designs. The question is, why hold them back? I have a suspicion based on something else teased but not seen during the preview show – the Ravenwing.

If you're hoping to muster a force capable of fighting in the current campaign, it's worth taking a look at the Chaos Space Marine Combat Patrol ($136.99 at Amazon) or the Dark Angels Combat Patrol ($144.50 at Amazon). These can be used in smaller games out of the box, or built up into a larger force for full Warhammer 40K.
Basically, I think the next campaign book following on from 500 Worlds (which gave one of our favorite armies a shot in the arm) and the pirate-filled Maelstrom will feature Iron Warriors vs. Ravenwing. Why? For starters, the Space Marine Ravenwing – AKA the Dark Angel chapter's vehicle division – were hinted at in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it insignia during a trailer ahead of the New Year Preview. Secondly, the model for Ravenwing's key hero, Sammael, is seriously due an upgrade. Third, the current Outrider bike model is a push-fit kit that doesn't boast much customization… so a new version with more options wouldn't go amiss either. When combined with those possibly updated Defiler and Obliterator models, you fit the criteria laid out by each of the campaign books so far: crowd-pleasing new models of troops and characters that upgrade existing, out-of-date minis.
So, when will we find out more? We've been promised another preview show in March for AdeptiCon 2026, so I'd bet on the full details then.
