Sen. John Fetterman said he supports ICE agents wearing masks because they are at risk of being doxed by protesters.

Speaking to Fox News, Fetterman said that the fact that agents are concealing their faces is "primarily driven by people who are going to dox them."

"That's a serious concern too. They could target their families and organizing these people, get their names out there. Don't dox people and target their families," he added.

Fetterman stands at odds with several members of his party over his assessment of ICE activities in the country. He recently criticized those who support the term "abolish ICE," saying Democrats "must resist the destructive tendencies to push extreme positions."

"Secure the border. Deport all the criminals. Stop targeting the hardworking migrants in our nation," Fetterman added, noting that "even Mayor Frey of Minneapolis doesn't support abolishing ICE.

The identities of ICE agents has also taken center stage following reports that Meta started blocking users from sharing links to a website that claims to compile names and photos of ICE personnel, a move that critics say limits public scrutiny of federal agents and raises questions about the boundaries between privacy and accountability.

Users attempting to post links to the database on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads have received messages indicating that the content violates Meta's community standards or is not allowed.

Meta spokesperson Andy Stone told Politico the restrictions are tied to policies that prohibit sharing or soliciting personally identifiable information, directing inquiries to the company's privacy rules.

The website's creator, Dominick Skinner, told Wired that links to the project had circulated on Meta platforms for more than six months without issue before the recent block:

"I think it's no surprise that a company run by a man who sat behind Trump at his inauguration, and donated to the destruction of the White House, has taken a stance that helps ICE agents retain anonymity," he said.
