Subscribe to our newsletterOne of the most unique things about Helldivers 2 is the way the collective player base determines the way the story unfolds based on whether or not they're successful in liberating territory from various threats. The latest enemies in the ongoing Galactic War, the cyborgs, are at the center of Helldivers 2's "most ambitious" update yet, and the folks at Arrowhead genuinely don't know how it's going to play out.
Machinery of Oppression is the next big Helldivers 2 update, and it'll usher in the Battle for Cyberstan, which is currently being occupied by bloodthirsty, democracy-hating cyborgs. You know what to do. The only question is: do we Super Earth defenders have what it takes? Just like with the battle for Super Earth itself, no one knows the answer to that question - not even Arrowhead itself.

I got my big break here in 2019 with a freelance news gig, and I was hired on as GamesRadar's west coast Staff Writer in 2021. That means I'm responsible for managing the site's western regional executive branch, AKA my home office, and writing about whatever horror game I'm too afraid to finish.
