Subscribe to our newsletterThe Helldivers 2 Vox Engine is a colossal mobile weapons platform, which is even scarier and deadlier than a regular Factory Strider. Found exclusively on Cyberstan and added as part of the Machinery of Oppression update, the Vox Engine blurts out foul propaganda from the Cyborg masters of the Automatons and features what might be the most devastating firepower in the entire game. Taking them down is therefore quite difficult, but they're not invincible, so here's everything you need to know about destroying Vox Engines in Helldivers 2.
Helldivers 2 Vox Engine weaknesses and best method for destroying them
The main weakness of the Vox Engine in Helldivers 2 is its six glowing orange heat sink vents, which can be shot and destroyed with any gun, exactly like those found on a Helldivers 2 Hulk. There are three on the back of its upper torso/head and three on its tank tread lower half. The easiest way to destroy a Vox Engine is to destroy all three vents on a single section, though it is absolutely best to focus on the Vox Engine's lower half as the torso will constantly turn to face you if it knows where you are, making the torso vents impossible to hit unless another player is there to do it for you – focusing on the lower vents means you can destroy the whole thing solo too.
Once all three vents have been destroyed, a small vent that spews smoke will open at the Vox Engine's rear, between its torso and tank treads. You then just need to lob a grenade inside this vent to blow the Vox Engine up, but it's not an especially easy throw as the grenade needs to essentially fall into the weak point, just like with a Fabricator. I also found that I was able to destroy a Vox Engine by destroying all six of its main vents, but I wouldn't recommend this over the shoot-three-vents-then-chuck-a-grenade method described above. You can also destroy the two gatling guns mounted on Vox Engine's lower half with any medium armor penetration weapon, though heavy armor penetration or anti-tank is obviously best – you could use something like the Railgun to destroy them quickly, or even the Eruptor if you have it – both of which are also great for killing the other Helldivers 2 Cyborgs.

Best weapons for destroying Vox Engines in Helldivers 2
If the chaos of the Helldivers 2 Cyberstan campaign means using the above method isn't feasible, you can of course just bombard a Vox Engine with your most powerful Stratagems and support weapons. An Orbital Laser can kill a Vox Engine, but it takes a long time, so it's perhaps not the best use of such a powerful Stratagem. Other destructive anti-tank Stratagems and support weapons, such as Orbital Barrages, Eagle 500kg Bombs, the Recoilless Rifle, and even C4 can be effective against a Vox Engine, especially if you have teammates helping you out with their own anti-tank weaponry.Just bear in mind that shooting the vents and throwing a grenade is the least resource-intensive approach, and should be followed whenever possible to quickly eliminate such a massive threat. If the situation is especially dire, remember that running away is also an option – just make sure you complete your objectives. While on Cyberstan, you'll face all manner of Automaton constructs, so make sure you also know how to beat Helldivers 2 Devastators and Helldivers 2 Gunships.© GamesRadar+.
