Dec. 7—SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — On the brink of suffering its first six-point sweep this weekend, the Bemidji State men's hockey team snatched two points out of thin air on the road against Augustana.

Just over two minutes remaining in regulation, Oliver Peer scored the game-tying goal, his team-leading 12th this season, in a 6-on-5 situation. It knotted the game at 4-4, and the score held through the end of regulation and 3-on-3 overtime.

While the final result is a tie, Peer and Connor McClennon scored in the shootout, while freshman goaltender Max Hildebrand stopped both of Augie's attempts, to claim the extra shootout point.

Sunday's contest at Midco Arena was moved from Saturday's 6:07 p.m. timeslot due to ice conditions.

Bemidji State finishes its 2025 slate with a record of 9-8-3 (7-2-3 CCHA) and sits in second place in the CCHA standings with 25 points, two back of Minnesota State. BSU will resume its season in 2026, Jan. 9-10 at home against Michigan Tech. Bemidji State will also play in a home exhibition game against Minnesota on Jan. 2.

Augustana's Joey DelGreco opened the scoring in the first period, getting a fortunate bounce off a Bemdiji State stick.

Kasper Magnussen tied the game on the power play just under three and a half minutes into the third period. Landon Fandel put AU ahead 4-3 with a goal nine minutes into the third period.

Adam Flammang and Hudson Thornton each had two assists. Flammang has 24 points in 18 games for the Beavers this season.
