Following a quiet end to last year, the new Lego sets for January 2026 hit with the force of a million bare feet standing on just as many bricks (ouch). Only a handful of new models dropped in November and none arrived in December, so getting well over 100 this month was enough to give any fan whiplash.

So, which new Lego sets in January were best? And which ones are worth your money and time? I've listed every single kit available this month below, alongside some analysis on the models I think are the most noteworthy. These are contenders for our list of the best Lego sets already, so keep an eye out for them.

Lego Stranger Things The Creel House | $299.99 at LegoWhat with Stranger Things being talk of the town for a lot of January, a new Lego set based on the final season has to take top spot in my first roundup of 2026. Besides recreating an iconic location with most of the main gang represented as delightful minifigs (even if I wish they'd chosen different hair pieces for a few), it's the first ever transforming Lego house. That's a pretty big feather in the cap.UK price: £249.99 at Lego

New Lego sets January 2026: Architecture

A smiling woman holds the Lego Paris - City of love kit in her hands

There's only one Architecture model in January, so deciding which one deserves a shoutout has been decided for us. However, it offers a new, intriguing approach for the range nonetheless.

Paris - City of Love | View at Lego

Paris - City of Love | View at LegoRather than sticking to a single building or a skyline, Paris - City of Love takes a different approach with a 2.5D representation of the city's most noteworthy tourist attractions against the night sky. This is all framed by a rather classy white border which reads "City of Love," so it'd make a great gift for anyone who adores the French capital.

New Lego sets January 2026: Art

Much like the Architecture range, Art has only received one new Lego set in January - but it's a corker. This faux-painting really is gorgeous, and it emphasizes that 2.5D effect more than previous projects.

Japanese Cherry Blossom Landscape | View at LegoThanks to the clever 2.5D approach and a beautiful blend of colors, this month's Art piece is breathtaking. There's so much going on here; whether it's the cranes cruising through a pink sky or the waterfall spilling over the gorgeous frame, the Japanese Cherry Blossom Landscape is truly a work of art.

New Lego sets January 2026: Botanicals

Warmer weather may be months away, but nobody seems to have told Lego that. Its Botanical Collection is feeling the joys of spring with four new kits, ranging from simple arrangements to set-pieces with their own Lego pots. Bear in mind that a few come without vases or anything to display them in, so you'll need to grab those separately!

Flowering Cactus | View at LegoEditor's choice

Flowering Cactus | View at LegoDespite being the smallest of the bunch, the Flowering Cactus is my favorite for a couple of reasons. To start with, it comes with a built-in pot to display it on... something that isn't always the case, as demonstrated by the Tulip Bouquet and Daisies. But more importantly, it's a departure from the norm. This prickly customer is a welcome breath of fresh air when compared to the usual blooms, bouquets, or trees we get, helping it stand out from the crowd. It isn't overly large either so can be subtly added to any setup without dominating the space - handy if you're giving it as a gift, in other words.

The two kits we're getting this month from BrickHeadz live at opposite ends of the spectrum. On the one hand, there's a very sweet Lilo & Stitch Angel model arriving in January, joining her buddy Stitch to kick off 2026. On the other, we have heroes battling a monster from Stranger Things.

Eleven, Max, Demogorgon, and Holly | View at LegoWith Stranger Things dominating the conversation this month, it's no surprise to see more BrickHeadz figures based on the cultural juggernaut. Rather than the season 1 versions we got at the end of last year, Lego's dropping season 5 takes on Eleven, Max, and Holly this time around. A generic Demogorgon is tagging along for the ride for good measure, and I much prefer this version to the old one; it's more dynamic and doesn't rely on printed pieces to represent those nasty teeth.

OK, this is where things get hairy. This range usually kicks off the year with a massive avalanche of new Lego sets, and 2026 is no different - we're staring down the barrel of 21 models launching in January.

Most of these are individual vehicles (including the for-young-children "Ride" kits). There's only a handful of larger models, but one of those is a multi-vehicle kit that encourages you to mix and match parts for some ungodly plane-trucks that hover. I love it.

Airport with Airplane | View at LegoEditor's choice

Airport with Airplane | View at LegoI'm a sucker for 'scenes' when it comes to Lego, so this one featuring a full airport to go with its plane was always going to catch my attention. There's so much going on here, be it the waiting rooms full of passengers, X-ray scanners showing minifigure skeletons, or baggage handlers tootling around the runway in little cars.

It isn't just City and Friends enjoying a bumper January; it's a big month for the Creator 3-in-1 range as well, with nine new Lego sets hitting shelves. The vast majority of these are animals being as cute as humanly possible (ranging from a hamster clutching a flower to "Fierce Dinosaur," who is a Very Good Boy), but a couple of tech-focused models have made their way into the mix as well.

Sea Animals: Beautiful Dolphins | View at LegoYou know what, Lego? You're right - this set is beautiful. I was initially going to shout out this month's retro console because it amused me to challenge my colleague and retro expert Phil to turn it into a working system, but then I saw this. I'm not sure whether it's the color of the waves, the pops of vibrancy underneath thanks to the coral, or the set's dynamism, but I fell in love with it right away.

New Lego sets January 2026: Disney

The barrage of cuteness in this month's new Lego sets isn't limited to the Creator range; Disney is also melting hearts over here with a collection of painfully adorable kits which seem to have been designed to make anyone in their vicinity go "awww." Take the Aristocats model, for example. You'd need a heart of stone not to be won over by it.

Olaf and Bruni's Picnic Fun | View at LegoEditor's choice

Olaf and Bruni's Picnic Fun | View at LegoThere are plenty of adorable new Lego sets for younger Disney fans this month, but this Frozen kit is my favorite. I don't believe we've had a larger figure of Olaf before, and because its arms can be posed as well as holding a couple of (amusingly ironic) accessories, he makes for a good display piece as well as a playset. I mean, yes, Bruni's wild eyes make it look like there was something a bit more interesting on offer at the picnic than hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows. But he's as cute as a button too, so the salamander being thrown in is a fun bonus.

Six new Dreamzzz sets are stomping into view this January, and this month it's all about mechs. Pick your poison - robo dinosaur, croco-sub, or rocket shark? Regardless, it's proof that mechs make everything better. I've always been a little lukewarm on the Dreamzzz range, but this? This is winning me over.

The Friends line is doing its very best to outdo City in terms of new Lego sets this month, and with 17 kits to its name in January, it isn't far off. These are a lot more expansive than the City equivalents, too; most include buildings and facades.

Heartlake City Friends Club House | View at LegoEditor's choice

Heartlake City Friends Club House | View at LegoIt might sound a little cult-y and I doubt this building would pass any health and safety regulations if it was real (a zipline on the roof?!), but this kit feels like all our childhood dreams of what we'd want a clubhouse to look like made real. I adore that there's a diverse range of figures too, including one with a limb difference.

The Wizarding World is enjoying a magical January, I must say: there are eight new kits apparating onto shelves in total. They're an impressive bunch, too. While there's your usual array of budget playsets that'd make great additions to the toybox (like the novelty Sorting Hat Ceremony, with a spinning wheel to decide which house your minifigs go into), there are some clever display pieces that break the mold in a very intelligent way. A classroom hidden in a cauldron? Inspired.

There's an impressive new addition to the minifigure-size Hogwarts Castle as well - the Hospital Wing. If you're building the school piece by piece via these sets, you can expect another intricate facade with rooms based on scenes in the movies and a variety of minifigures (this time based on Prisoner of Azkaban).

Sorcerer's Stone - Collector's Edition | View at LegoEditor's choice

Sorcerer's Stone - Collector's Edition | View at LegoI'd say this anniversary kit is the most impressive Harry Potter set in a month already full of eye-catching models. It combines the best of minifigure playsets with for-adults display pieces in an intelligent way; Hedwig perches atop school books and scale items from the original movie, which are piled on a wizard's chess board that's crewed by minifigures of Harry, Ron, and Hermione playing their life or death game. It's a genuinely innovative way to revisit a film that's now over 20 years old. (*Crumbles to dust*)

Three new Icons kits are dropping this month, and they're all catering to very different audiences. I mean, there's a recreation of an ultra-creepy Stranger Things location butting up against a quaint cottage garden, not to mention a shopping center.

Still, something they all share is good looks. Indeed, the latter set almost pipped the Creel House to my top spot this month. Besides having a fascinating, asymmetrical structure, it's crammed with so much detail that it feels positively alive.

Lego Stranger Things The Creel House | View at LegoAs mentioned earlier, I think the Creel House might just be my number-one new Lego set of January. It's hugely imaginative in that it's the first transforming Lego house, but it's also an incredibly accurate rendition of the iconic location.

New Lego sets January 2026: Marvel

A man poses the Lego Iron Man Mark 3 set

It's been an absolute bumper month for Marvel fans, because Lego's pumped out enough kits to bury most self-respecting superheroes in an avalanche of plastic. These range from a host of Spider-Man sets (including mech battles and a much more affordable Daily Bugle model than the previous version) to movie display pieces, recreating Spider-Man 3's final battle alongside Age of Ultron's Hulk Buster fight.

While I was initially going to give the adorable Ravager Groot his flowers, I can't ignore how magnificent the Iron Man suit of armor is. If you're a fan of the early MCU, this is a must-have display piece.

Iron Man Mark 3 Collectors' Edition | View at LegoEditor's choice

Iron Man Mark 3 Collectors' Edition | View at LegoThis is the sort of design that translates perfectly to a Lego format; it avoids an uncanny valley effect due to the suit's angular aesthetic. There are plenty of new Minecraft sets winging our way in January 2026. It's good news if you're a younger builder, or someone that likes to create little dioramas for display; the majority are playsets to enhance your collection with new enemies and biomes.

The kit that stood out most to me was the for-grown-ups display piece, though. Mini Biomes is the perfect addition to a shelf, desk, or gaming setup that nails what's great about the game in one small package.

In a time when it feels increasingly like Dreamzzz is coming for Ninjago's lunch, it's nice to see the ninja series still swinging. The Dragon of Life kit is incredibly eye-catching with its translucent green wings, for instance.

All the same, my vote has to go to the big boy - the Old Town model that pays homage to 15 years of Ninjago. How time flies when you're having fun.

There were just two Sonic sets out this month, and both have a need for speed. Yep, the blue blur and co are leaping into their karts for some high-speed hijinks. Why does one of the fastest creatures alive need a race car? Who knows. Maybe it's a handicap? It's cool either way, though.

The midi-scale Venator makes this ship so much more accessible than it has been before (the only way to get it previously was as a very expensive UCS model), and the new BB-8 follows the trend started by the smaller, more affordable R2 and C-3PO.

Still, I can't get over how good the new AT-AT is. It's an iconic vehicle at a much more approachable price point, and it still manages to capture the essence of the walking tank despite being much smaller than previous versions.

New Lego sets January 2026: Technic

A child smiles while looking at a NASA rocket set, with a cosmic background visible behind them

It's an embarrassment of riches for fans of supercars this month, because more than a few have been given the Lego treatment in January. My eyes are firmly fixed skyward, though, because the new NASA Artemis kit is impressive enough to seize attention.

NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket | View at LegoThe neat thing about this new Lego set is that it shows the three stages of NASA rocket separation as you turn the crank. It's a cool party trick, but also an educational one.

Two children smile and look at the Lego Galloping Horses Canvas on a table

New Year means two things when it comes to new Lego sets: Chinese New Year celebrations, and spring/Valentine's models. 2026 hasn't disappointed on either front, and there are some beautiful designs floating around.

This month was big for gifts-with-purchases too, from teeny TIE Fighters to the Squawk Radio Station from Stranger Things. Sadly, these are all long gone by now (RIP).
