Subscribe to our newsletterI've seen plenty of Pokemon fans finally make the leap and grab a Nintendo Switch 2 this week, and it's all thanks to Pokemon Pokopia. Sadly, Nintendo didn't drop any special Nintendo Switch 2 bundle deals to go alongside the adorable Animal Crossing-like, but if you're based in the UK, you can save a bit of cash by picking your new shiny console up from Amazon today for all your future Ditto-fueled adventures.
The UK retailer has dropped the standalone Nintendo Switch 2 to just £385 (Amazon), saving you £10 off its launch price of £395.99. If it were one of the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, I normally wouldn't bother you with a measly £10 off, but Switch 2 deals are not common. Even a tenner off is a saving I feel warrants your attention - especially as you'll need the handheld at all if you want to pick up the Switch 2 exclusive Pokemon Pokopia, and start creating adorable habitats for all your Pokepals.

Nintendo Switch 2 | £395.99 £385 at AmazonSave £10 - The standalone Switch 2 launched last year for £395.99 in the UK, but Amazon has dropped £10 off its full MSRP today. This is just the handheld, so you'll have to pick up the Mario Kart World bundle if you want a digital copy of that game, and you can expect to pay a little more for the privilege. Yet, if you're just after Pokemon Pokopia for now, this is your best bet in the UK.US: $449 at Amazon
View DealIs Pokemon Pokopia worth a Nintendo Switch 2 investment?
Pokemon Pokopia was released just yesterday, on March 5, so I haven't spent a long time with the game, yet it's definitely one of my favorite Pokémon experiences so far. It takes after Dragon Quest Builders, giving you access to a large isometric world that you can breathe new life into to create new habitats for your Pokemon friends, and keep them happy. If you're a big Animal Crossing and Pokemon fan, this game has you written all over it.
Game exclusives are always the biggest console pushers, but you won't just have Pokemon Pokopia to play if you grab today's deal. There's also Donkey Kong Bananza and Kirby Air Riders that will then be available to you, which are only available on the next-gen Ninty handheld. You'll also be able to play your existing physical and digital game library, with some even running better on the Switch 2. Like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which now include improved visuals and frame rates, all without an additional cost.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to diminish the large £385 investment, especially when we're all still dealing with a cost-of-living crisis. Ensuring you can keep your own habitat in tip-top shape is far more important than grabbing a new handheld. If you do, though, just be prepared for Pokopia to consume all your free time - it's the Animal Crossing New Horizons release week all over again.

Rosalie NewcombeSocial Links NavigationHardware EditorEver since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
