One of the core, ongoing quests in Pokopia is the Team Initiation Challenge, which you kick off by interacting with the lighthouse on the beach in Withered Wasteland. It's basically a series of fetch quests that are a little silly, but are actually pretty crucial if you want to see the credits roll on Pokopia and finish the story.

There are eight stages to the Team Initiation Challenges in Pokopia, and we'll walk you through them all here, including where and how to get every item you'll need.

Pokopia Team Initiation Challenge stage 1 - Leppa Berries

Stage one is very simple and can be completed just by collecting resources you'll already have available in Withered Wasteland.

You'll need 10 Leppa berries, which can be collected by headbutting Leppa trees you'll find all over Withered Wasteland.

Stage two of the Team Initiation Challenge starts to get a little more complicated as it's the first time you'll have to venture outside of Withered Wasteland to get the resources you need.

You'll need 10 beans, 10 tomatoes, and 10 wheat.

How to get beans in Pokopia: Like Leppa berries, beans also grow natively in Withered Wasteland so are very easy to collect. It's part of the request you'll get when you meet Drilbur for the first time, but there are also additional bean plants scattered in the upper levels of Withered Wasteland.

How to get tomatoes: Tomatoes grown natively in Bleak Beach, which is one of the second stage areas you unlock in Pokopia when you level up your Pokedex to great after rebuilding the Witehred Wasteland Pokemon Centre. Here's a detailed guide on how to get tomatoes in Pokopia including the exact location of some pre-grown beauties.

How to get wheat in Pokopia: Wheat grows natively in Rocky Ridges, which is the other area you can unlock with a Great level Pokedex. We've got another full guide on how to get wheat in Pokopia, which outlines all the locations you'll need.

Pokopia Team Initiation Challenge Stage 3 - Lumber, Fluff, Paper

Stage three moves us into crafting territory, with some more complex resources to submit.

  • A selection of crafting recipes from the building screen in Pokemon Pokopia How to find new recipes in Pokemon Pokopia

You'll need 20 lumber, 5 fluff, and 10 paper.

How to get lumber: We have a full guide on how to get lumber in Pokopia here, but the TL;DR is that you'll need to give small logs to a Pokemon equipped with the Cut Specialty, such as Scyther.

How to get fluff: Fluff is dropped in groups of three by, well, fluffy Pokemon that have the Litter Specialty. The best ones we've discovered so far are Mareep, Swablu, and Altaria for dropping Fluff.

How to get paper: The process for getting paper in Pokopia is very similar to lumber, so check out our full guide for the step-by-step. But, in short, you need to give waste paper to a Pokemon with the recycle ability. These include Trubbish, Metang, and Porygon.

Pokopia Team Initiation Challenge Stage 4 - Bricks, Gold Ingots, Concrete

Like the steps before, stage four is also all about giving over more complex resources, and this time you're going to need a lot more.

You'll need 40 bricks, 20 gold ingots, and 50 concrete.

How to get bricks: How to make bricks in Pokopia is like paper and lumber before it. You need to give squishy clay (found in Bleak Beach and on Dream Islands) to a Pokemon with the Burn Speciality, including Charmander, Torchic, and basically any Fire-Type Pokemon.

How to get gold ingots: Making gold ingots in Pokopia first needs you to find sources of gold ore, which is usually hidden deep in caves or on Dream Islands. You'll need to power up Rock Smash by making hamburger steaks to be able to free them from their blocks.

Then you'll need to take a Burn Speciality Pokemon to a smelting furnace, feed the gold ingots into the furnace, and then they'll set off making the gold ingots for you. You'll get access to a smelting furnace automatically as part of the Rocky Ridges storyline.

How to get concrete: Concrete is a resource you're not going to be able to make until you reach Sparkling Skylands, which is the last region of the game. The storyline here will teach you how to make concrete out of limestone using a concrete mixer using a Pokemon with the Crush Speciality, which is namely Conkeldurr, but there are others.

Pokopia Team Initiation Challenge Stage 5 - Electricity, Crystal Fragments, Tinkagears

It's time to power up the lighthouse now with stage five!

You'll need "lots" or 50 electricity, 10 crystal fragments, and 5 Tinkagears.

How to get electricity: We ticked off this requirement by hooking up one furnace and one waterwheel to the lighthouse using electricity poles. These can both be bought from the Pokemon Centre computers as kits (which take around 15-30 minutes in real-time to build). Then fill up your furnace with burnables so it's fully powered, and combined with the water wheel satisfies the power request for this stage of the Team Initiation Challenge.

How to get crystal fragments: Crystal fragments are found deep in the mines at Rocky Ridges, again locked behind the ability to power up Rock Smash by making and eating hamburger steaks. They are also available at Dream Island locations.

How to get Tinkagears: Tinkagears are unlocked as part of the storyline in Sparkling Skylands, where Tinkmaster can create them from iron ingots.

Pokopia Team Initiation Challenge Stage 6 - Industrial Beds, Resort Lights, Office Desks

Now the lighthouse has power, it's time to furnish it.

You'll need four industrial beds, four resort lights, and four office desks.

  • Industrial bed recipe: Unlocked by levelling up Rocky Ridges environmental level to 4
  • Resort lights recipe: Unlocked by levelling up Bleak Beach's environmental level to 4
  • Office desks recipe: Unlocked by levelling up Sparkling Skylands' environmental level to 4

You'll need the following for each recipe:

Industrial bed: two iron ingots, two fluff, two lumber

Resort light: one iron ore, one vine rope, one sea glass fragment

Office desk: two Pokemetal bars

Pokopia Team Initiation Challenge Stage 7 - Washing Machine, Refrigerator, Game Boy System

The semi-final stage is very similar to the one before but you only need to get one of each item to continue. Apparently this is all about the "essentials", which is debatable.

You'll need one washing machine, one refrigerator, one Game Boy system.

  • Washing machine recipe: Unlocked by levelling up Bleak Beach's environmental level to 5
  • Refrigerator recipe: Unlocked by levelling up Rocky Ridges' environmental level to 5
  • Game Boy system recipe: Unlocked by levelling up Sparkling Skylands' environmental level to 5

Pokopia Team Initiation Challenge Stage 8 - Photo and party poppers

in Pokemon Pokopia

The last - almost two-parter - stage is very much the easiest.

You'll need a cherished photo and two party poppers.

The cherished photo can literally be anything in your in-game photo library, so just grab a snap or selfie of something cute and post it into the lighthouse.

Party poppers you should already have the recipe for by this stage or you can buy them from the Pokemon Centre.

And that's it, the Team Initiation Challenge is complete and you're about to see the credits roll on the game! Congrats!
