The Pokopia developer island is literally what it sounds like: a Pokopia island created by the developers themselves. Naturally, then, it's a great place to head for some inspiration for your own island, and to see what they envisioned for their own world.

To visit the Pokopia developer island, and any other players' islands, you'll need a very specific item and a Nintendo Switch Online membership. With both of those, you can visit as many public lands as you like, meet new Pokemon, and get some fresh ideas to take home with you.

To visit the Pokopia developers' island, you must first obtain the Mysterious Goggles. You can purchase these from any Pokemon Center shop for 100 Life Coins, once that area has reached Environment Level 3.You can then use the goggles to visit any other island, as long as you have the island code. For the developer island, activate the goggles and enter island code PXQC G03S.

While you're here, you won't be able to interact with anything, keeping the island safe from visiting would-be griefers, but you can have a good, long look around, take in the surroundings, and bring some inspiration home with you. After all, the beautiful developer island is nothing if not inspiring.

How to leave developer island

Leaving the island works slightly differently, as you won't be able to access the goggles from your inventory - or anything else, for that matter.

Instead, to leave the island, interact with the Pokemon Center PC. This automatically returns you to your last location on your home island.
