Senior Trump Cabinet Member Building a Bunker Amid Iran War, Constructor Says: 'When Will Mine Be Ready?'

A bunker builder from the U.S. said the amount of calls he has been receiving have increased "tenfold" since the war with Iran began on February 28.

"I've been inundated with calls," Ron Hubbard told British outlet the Telegraph. The man detailed that his company, Atlas shelters, builds bunkers designed to survive drone attacks, ballistic missile strikes and even nuclear bombs. Two senior Cabinet members in the Trump administration are among his clients, with one recently asking when his would be ready.

The Telegraph noted that Hubbard's company builds hundreds of bunkers a year in Texas. They can go from $20,000 to $5 million underground compounds. They can include cinemas, swimming pools, and armories.

The man said he also saw a spike in calls after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022 and the October 7 attacks perpetrated by Hamas in Israel in 2023.

Hubbard recently opened offices in Dubai and predicts several calls after recent strikes from Iran. "Now that they've been bombed, they're all going to want shelters. It's just a fact of life," he said.

While it is unclear how big are the chances that the U.S. could be hit, a new report noted that the FBI recently warned California police departments that Iran sought to strike targets in the state with attack drones if a war between the countries effectively began.

ABC News detailed the alert was distributed in late February, right when the U.S. and Israel struck Iran for the first time. It did not specify targets or timing.

"We recently acquired information that as of early February 2026, Iran allegedly aspired to conduct a surprise attack using unmanned aerial vehicles from an unidentified vessel off the coast of the United State Homeland, specifically against unspecified targets in California, in the event that the US conducted strikes against Iran," reads a passage of the alert.

John Cohen, a contributor for the outlet and former head of intelligence for the Department of Homeland Security, said he is concerned about drone warfare both from the pacific and Mexico.

"We know Iran has an extensive presence in Mexico and South America, they have relationships, they have the drones and now they have the incentive to conduct attacks," he said.

The outlet also reported on Tuesday that the U.S. intercepted encrypted communications believed to be coming from Iran, and could potentially be activating sleeper cells around the world.

A different federal government alert sent to law enforcement agencies detailed that the communications could be serving as an "operational trigger" for "sleeper assets." The messages can be deciphered by "clandestine recipients" with the encryption key and without the need for internet or cellphones.
